The presentation of this 22nd edition of Notte della Taranta took place in Moscow once again in the sign of a shared dream without musical boundaries, without boundaries between generations, without boundaries between peoples. In the sign of culture understood as knowledge, beauty and sharing of authentic values but also in its protection and enhancement that resides in identity and that has always characterized the activity of the La Notte della Taranta Foundation.
La Notte della Taranta is expressive freedom, creative freedom, freedom to dance and sing even in the Red Square of the capital of Russia where dancing and singing is forbidden unless authorized. During the presentation a thank you goes to the audience of Notte della Taranta: beautiful and sunny like a summer in Salento. The strong message that for all the rest there is a verse that is always benevolently repeated in these lands, there is a strong message from those who make the struggle of their own and others' freedom a constancy in their own days, starting from cultural freedom, information, protest peaceful that in the midday it was diffused through the songs of popular music: a ci ne ole male li ulimu bene, e ci balla la pizzica moi nu more mai" – tradotto “
to those who want us badly we love each other and those who dance pizzica never die”.
As every year we will follow the appointment for fans and our readers. And we will promote in detail the Itinerant Festival of the Night of the Taranta with its various stages that will allow visitors, tourists and vacationers to appreciate all the countries of Grecià Salentina offering fantastic evenings of aggregation, fun, dance, Salentine folk music, discovery of the territories, artistic beauties, gastronomy and culture during the summer period. In the course of the illustration and development of the stages of the Taranta Festival we will gradually discover the message and artistic path of this year that will lead us in its positive explosiveness to the Concertone Finale di Melpignano.
The choreographer of the Concertone della Notte della Taranta in Melpignano (Lecce) will be Davide Bombana. The announcement was made in Lecce at a press conference, preceded by an engaging flash mob of 12 dancers from La Notte della Taranta Corps in Piazza Sant’Oronzo. Davide Bombana, a prominent name in international dance, celebrates his parts danced in the New Year concert of the Wiener Philharmoniker conducted by Jansons, Metha and Muti and performed by the first dancers of the Vienna State Opera. Bombana will realize the choreographies of the Concertone directed by the maestro Fabio Mastrangelo, translating La pizzica with its expressive power.
The twenty-second edition of the Notte della Taranta (# Taranta22), will be the protagonist of the project for the enhancement of 4 oases of Southern Italy promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo and Legambiente with the collaboration of the La Notte della Taranta Foundation. At the presentation of the "Rigeneri AMO Nature" project participated, the Regional Tourism Councilor Loredana Capone, the president of the La Notte della Taranta Foundation Massimo Manera, the Regional Director Puglia, Campania, Basilicata, Calabria, Intesa Sanpaolo Francesco Guido, the creative director of the brand Yezael Angelo Cruciani and Nunzio Cirino Groccia of the national secretariat of Legambiente. The objective is to defend the environment and nature and make the places identified by Legambiente accessible to all.
Italy is rich in exciting landscapes and an extraordinary heritage of biodiversity, which makes our country the richest in Europe. It is for these reasons that Legambiente and Intesa Sanpaolo have decided to share an extraordinary fundraising campaign on the occasion of the twenty-second edition of La Notte della Taranta, which this year will become solidarity for environmental protection.
Thanks to the contribution of all the people who decide to participate in "Rigeneri AMO la Natura", it will be possible to redevelop, with simple and concrete projects, four valuable areas from the environmental point of view in Puglia, Calabria, Campania and Basilicata.
Each with its own story to tell:
· The Bay of Torre Squillace, in the municipality of Nardò (Puglia), in the center of the protection area of the protected marine area of Porto Cesareo, to be made accessible with guided tours to discover the history of the Tower and the natural heritage that surrounds it;
· The Dunes of Sovereto, in Isola di Capo Rizzuto, in the province of Crotone (Calabria), with naturalistic habitats and paths to restore;
· The Oasis of Variconi, in Castelvolturno, in the province of Caserta (Campania), a destination for many birdwatchers, devastated by arson;
· The Special Protection Area "Ionian Coast Foce Cavone", in Pisticci, in the province of Matera (Basilicata), rich in dunes, beaches, and wildlife to be observed but not accessible to disabled people;
“Rigeneri AMO la Natura”, it also wants to be a journey through the beauty of a less known and often, therefore, neglected Italy. Italy with its wonderful beaches and its traditions is a country to rediscover together, to defend and promote, as has been done for twenty-two years
La Notte della Taranta with its popular roots and the universal language of music.
The project starts with the journey of the Notte della Taranta in Intesa Sanpaolo conditions in 4 cities in the South:
- 27 June in Matera Capital of Culture (piazza Vittorio Veneto);
- 4th July in Reggio Calabria (via Nicola Miraglia);
- 11 July in Bari (from via Sparano to via Abate Gimma);
- 18 July in Caserta (piazza Generale Amico).
Everyone will be able to contribute to the environmental protection project by purchasing the official t-shirt of the 22nd edition of La Notte della Taranta designed by Angelo Cruciani, creative director of Yezael. At the center of the white t-shirt is a large tambourine where the rattles are the moons. Primitive and explosive as a Magritte dance, the wheel of Lune culminates with that of the most awaited night of summer: the Taranta. Cruciani's shirt is a manifesto in defense of nature and will be worn by the musicians of the Popular Orchestra in the Melpignano Concertone. The partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo has made it possible to increase the offer of the Festival with concerts and courses of knowledge of pizzica organized in the branches of Southern Italy of the banking group.
